Imerge S4000 SoundServer: FAQ
|?||How much storage space is available?|
|S4000 comes with internal storage of 500GB. This is sufficient for around 700 CDs stored uncompressed as WAV files, or as many as 80,000 MP3 files (at 128kb/s bitrate).
|?||Can I expand the amount of storage available?|
|It is currently not possible to increase the storage capacity.
|?||Can the S4000 be a client to the MS1-3D in order to add additional audio only zones?|
|Currently no, should you wish to add additional audio zones to the MS1-3D, you can add additional MS1-3D clients which can have all 5 outputs enabled.
|?||Can you use more than one S4000 together so that you have more than 5 zones?|
|For the initial release this feature is not available, however we have the ability to enable this through an on-line update if there is sufficient demand.
|?||Does the S4000 support FLAC?|
|Currently the playback formats we support are: WAV, MP3, AAC, - we do intend to have dual encoding implemented in the future (record a disc and automatically encode in FLAC + MP3).
|?||Can I access the music loaded on the S4000 SoundServer from the network?|
|Yes, we make all of the music you have stored on the server available on the network. This way you can drag and drop all of your favourite music to the computer or portable players of your choice.
|?||Can I use an S4000 to replace an S2000 or S3000?|
|Yes you can, however there are some changes required on the control side and we would recommend upgrading your controller to the latest control protocol.
Another consideration is that the S2000 and S3000 provide up to 4 zones. As the S4000 is a 5 output device, care needs to be taken when assigning outputs to the control system.
|?||Can I edit the metadata provided by the server?|
|Yes, you can manually edit the details for each of the albums and tracks using either the TV interface or the web admin interface.
|?||Can the music stored on the S4000 be accessed using Spotify?|
|Yes. Spotify can create play-lists that are generated from local shares (Musicshare).
