Should I be concerned about legalities of DVD ripping?
Answer:
Most commercially available DVDs are licensed for home use only and specifically excluded the rights necessary for public performance of the DVD content. If you are installing the MS1 system in a setting other than a single-family residence, aircraft or yacht then you should ensure you obtain the necessary public performance and or other applicable rights. Certain public performance rights may be obtained from various licensing agencies. You should not use your system to engage in any conduct or practice, or commit any act, which constitutes an illegal act under the laws of your jurisdiction, including, but not limited to, the laws pertaining to copyright. In particular, you should never agree to copy or permit someone else to copy a commercial DVD onto your system that you do not rightfully own and possess. In addition, you should not copy any DVD that has been rented, borrowed or loaned to you which, by their terms, are for a limited period of use.
